Satellite television wasn't always the top-dog kind of service that it is today; to the contrary, satellite connections were widely looked down upon in the early days due to technical difficulties and a lack of quality-issues that many people thought would never actually be overcome! Yet satellite providers have proven to be kings of overcoming adversity and challenges, and today there is no doubting the fact that satellite TV is regarded as the most exclusive and most satisfactory television service of all, way above and beyond what cable companies are able to provide. It is no wonder, then, that satellite television has been sitting at the top of the customer satisfaction hill for nigh on a decade already, something which proves beyond the tiniest shadow of a doubt that there really is no beating satellite. Yet let's turn back the page and take a look at what things were like back then, when satellite technology had an uncertain future and people generally didn't have such pleasant things to say about the service.

Satellite TV connections only really became massively (commercially) available to the greater population beginning in the 1980s, and even then the conditions weren't exactly that great for satellite providers to go out and conquer the market. First and foremost, there was the issue of price holding people back: satellite connections were so costly that they were quite effectively and truthfully considered to be the sole option of the rich and wealthy, who were undoubtedly the bulk of the satellite TV customer base back in those early days. Also holding people back from jumping on the satellite bandwagon was the fact that installation was such a pain in the neck: in just about all cases, people had to take on the confusing and difficult task of setting up their satellite antenna, connecting all the appropriate cables and grounding equipment on their own-something that effectively reduced subscribers to those who were either technicians themselves or had the extra money to pay one to do the installation.

Beyond these introductory problems, satellite providers had another significant problem on their hands: the quality of the service itself. Customers widely complained about the fact that their signal was cut out or seriously interfered with by just about any kind of storm, or even just cloud cover passing overhead. This was even more of a deterrent for getting satellite TV than any of the issues mentioned above, and providers knew that they had to overcome such problems urgently or simply throw in the towel.

As it turns out, the industry managed to overcome its demons and finally provide subscribers with a premium service at a great price (and with no installation troubles either), and the growth in new subscriptions ever since has been simply phenomenal.

Shouldn't you see what a satellite tv connection could do for you? However, there are several factors that you need to consider when choosing the right one that best suits for your TV.

First, you have to consider the type of base material you want for your TV stand. There are generally three types of base material, which is the MDF woods, the glass and also the real wood. The price and style for these three materials varies, each perfect for people with different budget and style.

If you were low in budget or someone who does not want to spend too much on a stand for TV but wants it to match well with expensive woods, MDF woods would be your best choice.

Glass is another type of material used to make stands for TV. The price of glass is slightly higher than MDF woods. It is more suitable for those who are going for classy modern look, or lighter toned room.

Unlike MDF woods and real wood, the transparent looking glass can easily attract dirt and unwanted stained. Real wood is the most expansive type of material used to build TV stand.

It can be carved into any desired style and it can last longer than the others as hard wood is used.

Once you have select the type of material used, the next step you should consider is the price of the stand. As there are too many stores out there that sells TV cabinets and furniture, searching and comparing it one by one is merely impossible.

The best way is to search for the product online. Online stores are easy to access, and allow us to compare the price, quality and variety without breaking a sweat.

Most important of all, it generally offers a cheaper price than traditional stores. You can also search in online auctions portal for used or new TV stand for a better price.

Choosing a right tv stand for your new tv can be time consuming nowadays as there are too factors that you need to consider.

However, you might want to consider lcd monitor wall mount or bdi tv stands as these are reliable and durable.

Choosing a High Definition TV For Your Home

If you have ever redecorated a home before, one of the most important decisions to make is where to put a television and in how many rooms. For some, the living room is a sacred place where real decorating flares are put on display and company is entertained. For others though, it's a more social room where a new TV would fit in just fine. Wherever the TV is being set up, one thing is for sure: with today's technology any kind of television your purchase for your home will likely be HD. The following are some pointers to help you figure out what kind of TV is best.

When choosing between television sets, don't just consider prices. Do your research through consumer ratings and magazines to find out what televisions are the best value and have consistently rated high in all of the categories. Some categories to pay special attention to are warrantee or guarantee, size, pixels, shape, brand name and high definition picture quality. If they scored below the mean score, it is obviously best to look for another type of television until you find one that seems to be a good fit.
Think about where you want to place the HD television in your home. If you plan on setting it in a bedroom, a smaller size is probably best because it will not be used as often as one in the living room or den. Likewise, you do not need a massive television in your kitchen. If you plan on having one in the kitchen, look for one that can be mounted from the wall or suspended in a corner (not unlike those in hospitals). If you plan on setting up a surround sound system and investing in a satellite TV package, you might consider a 50 or 60 inch flat screen TV that can rest on the ground or be mounted on the wall of your living room or den. It makes the TV viewing experience more like a movie theater.
What will you mainly be using the TV for? It sounds strange to consider, but where and how will your new television be best put to use? There are different types of TVs with different highlights in quality for certain pictures. A movie buff is going to want one that focuses more on color and sound quality. The casual TV watcher will want one that has a decent all-around picture. The sports fan who plans on subscribing to premium channels like the NFL Sunday Ticket, however, is going to want a TV that focuses on picture quality and clarity that enhance viewing and replays, making them feel as if they are running down field or swinging for the fences with their favorite players.

Once you and your loved ones have analyzed some of these important factors to consider when purchasing a new TV, you'll be ready to go purchase one, and direct tv can help you with other great buying tips. Install one of today's great directtv packages to receive more of these great tips and special deals on premium channels.

Panasonic TX-P42G20B Review

A review of the Panasonic TX-P42G20B plasma TV is a pleasure to do once one takes a few minutes to size up all the functions and features of this newest addition to the UK line of Panasonic plasma televisions. This 42-inch big-screen TV is new for 2010 and it makes use of a number of innovative technologies particular to Panasonic, including its well-working NeoPDP suite of picture display functions.

This new TV is meant to be the replacement for the older G10 line of flat-panel plasma TVs and as such its taken over quite capably. It's also a true high-definition TV, displaying its on-screen action at a 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution. Older high-definition televisions displaying at 720p weren't technically "true" high-def, though they had a fine picture. Still, this new Panasonic's display is a qualitative step upward.

In addition to 1080p (pixels), the Panasonic TX-P42G20B also makes use of Panasonic's "Intelligent Frame Creation Pro" suite and a 600Hz motion engine to sharpen and focus (and keep track of) the picture display to great effect. It also comes with a built-in Freeview-HD tuning filter that eliminates the need for external equipment to pick up certain UK-specific satellite channels. It's fairly new to the UK, though more people than ever are seeking it out.

With a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000 to 1 most anybody watching the Panasonic TX-P42G20B display its imagery will be instantly impressed by the quality of the blacks (they'll look super-deep) and the whites (super-white, in fact) along with the vibrancy of the colors that'll appear on the screen. Combined with pixel rate and refresh rate (made possible by the 600Hz engine), most anybody would say that the Panasonic delivers one of the best-looking displays around.

Connecting the TV to a number of different electronic components (DVD players, video game consoles, surround sound systems and even computers) will be fairly easy because there are 4 separate HDMI inputs and 2 USB 2.0 ports along with a variety of digital audio outs, memory card slots and the like. There are also VGA ports, which can enable the TV to act as a giant computer monitor, if one desires.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20B TV is also Dolby THX certified, meaning that the sound it produces and then puts out will be very nice. All such TVs, of course, can benefit from the addition of a real audio sound system that delivers surround sound free of the television's limited number of speakers (usually 2) but this Panasonic does well at producing a decent quality of sound with little real effort.

Like many of the new 2010 Viera-class Panasonic flat-panel televisions (this TV is a Viera), the TX-P43G20B comes ready for WiFi and Skype through use of an optional WiFi dongle and USB adapter. It takes only a minute to get everything up and running, as well. By the way; the G20B features the 3-pin-plug common to the UK. The G20 is the standard plug version familiar to many others.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20B plasma TV is a 42-inch flat-panel television of great accomplishment. It's a replacement for the G10 lineup and is new to the public for the 2010 model year and is designed to sit attractively in a room of most any size. It can, in fact, make for a primary or even a secondary (in a bedroom, for example) TV. As well, its price (1,100 British pounds, including VAT) is attractive enough to draw in many looking for a new TV.

Reviews and Cheapest Price in the UK for the Panasonic TX-P42G20B at Panasonic TX-P42G20B and Panasonic TX-P42G20B Review

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

The Sony KDL - 55EX500 50" LCD TV - Three Reasons Why it is Worth Buying

At the moment, it is hard to find an expert review of the Sony KDL-55EX500 50" LCD TV. It is probably because this TV model is a relatively new release to the market. And yet, from the looks of it, it seems like this mid-range Sony HD LCD television set is poised to win over gadget fans, even those who lean more towards plasmas. The 55EX500 is not exactly the model that will revolutionize the way TV sets are made, but the weight of the pros and the lack of cons associated with this model hold some promise.

Should you consider buying a Sony 55EX500? Here are a few reasons why you should get one if you are looking to purchase a new TV set.

1. It produces gorgeous pictures. The BRAVIA Engine 2 that Sony developed is built into the 55EX500. This means that any picture you see on its screen has a natural resolution and with accurate color rendering. The contrast ratio is also a good 60,000:1 and the resolution is 1080 pixels. The TV itself has a light sensor to dim or brighten the screen automatically as needed.

2. Its display does not lag with fast movements. One of the disadvantages of LCD TVs is that the display lags when objects or images move too fast on the screen. This makes watching sports on an LCD screen a bit annoying. But not with the 55EX500, though; Sony's Motionflow processor keeps the screen clear of lag even with fast-moving screen images.

3. It lets you connect a wide range of devices. The 55EX500 has seven inputs: one composite video, two component video and four HDMI. It also has PC and RF inputs as well as a USB port and an optical digital audio output. This means you can connect almost any device to this TV and enjoy your channel surfing, movie-viewing and gaming to the fullest.

As for the price, the Sony 55EX500 50" LCD TV is a mid-range TV set, so you can expect it to cost you around $1,800 at the most. The price is worth it, and if you search hard enough, you can even get this TV set at a cheaper price.

For information about DVD recorders HDD, check out this article: DVD Recorders HDD. Considering the fact that people in the United States spend between two to four hours a day minimum watching television, advertisers pay ridiculous amounts of money on a consistent basis to try and grab your attention and motivate you to purchase a specific product or service. Besides, without commercials the majority of content on cable and satellite TV would not exist (this statement excludes such HD movie channels as HBO and Cinemax, since they charge subscription fees).

But when it comes to the actual point of purchase, many advertisements fall short. Shopping is such a pain in this day and age, especially during the highly hectic holiday season (alliteration aside). Not to mention that with the economy still in the toilet, people are not easily persuaded to go out and buy a new car or a new electronic device. Granted, impulse purchases still work, but an individual is only exposed to them while standing in the checkout line of a supermarket or store.

Well, when it comes to appealing to that passionate shopper who just cannot motivate themselves to actually go to a store (unless there is a sale) satellite TV has just the ticket to not only entertain but also help fill wardrobes and closets: shopping channels.

Now, this concept is not anything new, but over the last 20 years shopping channels have received somewhat of a bad rap - that Eddie Murphy movie "Holy Man" did not help the situation at all. Nevertheless, with more and more people staying home to watch cable and satellite TV instead of spending evenings window shopping and hitting the town, more and more shopping networks have seen an increase in revenue. They are no longer seen as cheesy, low-class ways to purchase goods.

Now, satellite TV shopping channels are one of the best and easiest ways to find that special gift or to purchase that much deserved treat after all of those nine to five workdays put in over the last few months. And with a slew of channels, every product imaginable can be found.

If looking for jewelry or watches, look no further than Gems TV. With 24-hours of constant sales, updates and information related to jewelry, any viewer scanning the channels can easily come upon and find that exquisite item that they must have. Besides, jewelry is always one of the best gifts for that special someone.

If looking for something to buy, but not exactly sure what, then scroll up to the Home Shopping Network (HSN) or ShopNBC to see what products they are currently highlighting. With funny hosts, tons of information and 24-hours, seven days a week of on-air shopping, both networks provide viewers with a slew of items to choose from. Whether it is electronics or kitchen appliances, every product imaginable is showcased on both channels. Not to mention that if something is seen that cannot be purchased during the broadcast, both channels have very easy to use Web sites, allowing diehard shoppers to relocate that lost item and purchase it for their home.

Put the shopping power of your remote to good use with directtv satellite tv and its slew of home shopping channels. Thinking about purchasing a gift for someone can occupy a lot of brainpower. With a directv business package, your employees can make that transaction during their lunch break and spend the rest of the day focused on their job.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_R._Harrison

What's in a Cable Bundle For Internet, TV and Phone?

Stating the obvious would be phone service, television service, and Internet service. What is quite as apparent is what you'll get from these different products, and what's available in different packages. I should also point out that bundling doesn't necessarily you have to get all three products. You can get just two, and in most cases it still qualifies you for a bundling discount.

Cable Bundled Packages
You can bundle from two to three services for your package to qualify as a bundle, and possible get a discount. Typically two products is a double play package, and three products is a triple play package. Cable providers don't offer cellular, so there really is no need to mention quad play here.

Cable Television
You'll need at least the basic cable package in most cases to qualify for a discount, and I don't think much explanation is needed here. As part of your cable TV package, you might also have the option to add HD (high definition) channels, and hardware, such as an HD DVR. You could also get a DVR without HD capabilities if you're happy with a standard digital signal, or don't have an HD TV set. A DVR is a digital video recorder that lets you pause, record, and rewind live television, or schedule recordings for movies and shows to watch whenever you have time. You can also add more channels for a little more money for your standard lineup, or get premium movie channel packages. On-Demand and Pay-per-view channels are available as well.

Cable Internet
High-speed Internet connections from your cable provider can range anywhere from download speeds of 756 Kbps, to over 15 Mbps. The faster the speed, the higher the price. A lot of cable providers also offer email, parental controls, and security software as part of the package. You might opt for a standard cable modem, or a cable modem with a wireless router so you can connect to the Internet wirelessly.

Cable Telephone
In recent years cable providers have also offered home phone service, and is often called digital phone service. It's not a landline, but works nearly the same way in that you use a typical house phone to make and take calls. The difference is cable phone uses voip technology versus a landline. There's also a variety of calling plans like just local, or local with a cent per minute long distance plan, or unlimited local and long distance calling.

Cable Bundling Discounts
There are normally discounts available when you bundle your services. Sometimes, and more often than not they do require a contract. What a lot of people don't know is you can adjust your level of service for each product according to your needs. You don't always have to accept the national advertised offers if they're not quite what you need to get a discount.

Daymon Hoag is the founder of Phone TV Internet, LLC where you can compare internet & cable packages and also internet & phone packages for bundling services.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Daymon_Hoag

TV Stands That Can Save Your Space

A TV stand does not just function as a television holder, if it is chosen wisely, it can serve as a place to store entertainment equipments and accessories. Besides, it can also save some space for your house.

Stands for TV are available in the market in different prices and brands. Generally, the material used can be categorized into MDF, glass and wood. These materials produce different styles of TV stand ranging from traditional to modern in order to fit in any rooms.

Besides that, it can also be distinguished based on its size and function. It can be broadly divided into compact TV stand, cabinets, pedestal and corner stands as well as wall mount.

Firstly, compact TV stands serve to hold only the television and nothing else. Therefore, it is smaller and is space saving. It does not provide additional storage space for electronic miscellaneous. You have to seek for other storage space to keep the items.

TV cabinets provide plenty of storage to place items such as DVD players, sound systems. Certain TV cabinets also provide racks to store CDs and DVDs. These cabinets are slightly larger than the former and need to be placed in the center of the room to allow full functionality.

Pedestal stand provides space storage and space saving as well, but the size of it is smaller than TV cabinet hence it cannot store as many things as the TV cabinet.

Some people would prefer the corner TV stands as it is normally placed in unused corner. This corner efficiently adds in more space to the room and audience can watch the TV from any angle in the room.

Swiveling TV stands save up spaces by allowing the TV to turn into any angle that is best for the user.

Other than the above, there are wall TVs that do not have a stand to support the television. The television is mounted to the wall for maximum space saving. However, it is not suitable for those who have equipments at home as wall TV does not provide storage for it.

Plasma stands are only used to hold plasma TV's. The stands are wider and created in sleek design to enhance the expansive plasma TV.

Lastly, Entertainment Centers are large TV stands that take up a lot of spaces as it is designed to hold the full variety of entertainment equipment. Entertainment Centers are only considerable and space saving when you have a lot of equipments. Otherwise, this Entertainment Center will only be a waste.

Choosing a space saving TV stand is not easy nowadays in view of the choices available in the market. However, if you are considering a flat panel tv wall mount or ceiling lcd mounts, you might want to order it online as it is more cost effective and time saving.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Harry_Goh

Choosing the Perfect TV

Fast changing world, faster changing technologies; market is flooded with high tech audio visual gadgets. Some people consider hanging it on the wall but unfortunately it is a lot of work. You would then consider buying a large setup like the TV units you see at the store but they are too much hassle. But there is something simple that you could try. And that is a TV shelf.

A TV shelf is something to consider other than regular TV stands. They are cheap but able to handle most TV units. A TV shelf takes up a lot less space than a regular stand. You can put the latest LCD on it to old style box TV devices. There are many types of TV shelves that you can buy so it is important to look around and choose the best one for your home.

The pull out style of shelf requires many bolts and screws. However once it is setup it makes it very easy to keep your TV and other electronics together. Usually this requires a closet or space in a wall to move the whole thing out of sight.

Wall mounted shelving all you to keep your TV up out of the way. This allows traditional book shelving to be placed underneath. It is a great option for kitchens who need smaller televisions up and out of the way.

A component shelf is an interesting unit as well. You can stack them so that you can have multiple TV devices close together. You can change the angle in which the TV is displayed as well.

As you can see there are many alternatives to the classic TV chest that costs dearly. The important thing to remember is that you must choose a shelf that can handle the weight of your TV. Now that you understand it don't waste any more time and go buy a new TV shelf.

Check out tv units for more information. But I also wanted to mention about keeping an eye on your children or even as a safety device. Plasma and LCD TVs can be great accessories to decorate your house hold. We buy furniture for so many reasons and your TV also requires complementing furniture like TV stands, which is stylish, portable and can also hold your expensive TV set safely.

Buying a TV stand, specifically designed for plasma and LCD, has to be wide and strong so as to avoid unnecessary damage to the TV set. The plasma stands are also a great way to aesthetically add to your home entertainment setup depending on the design you select which in turn depends on the existing rooms interiors. There are many options available in the market to make a choice. But before you decide to spend your hard earned money on them learn about few important points to be kept in mind about plasma stands and LCD TV stands.

Most plasmas and LCD TVs require wide TV stands which are available in different sizes and thus you need to make sure you are choosing the one that best fits your needs. The first step of choosing the ideal TV furniture is to consider the space available. Measure the area of living room or bedroom where you want the plasma stand to be placed. This will help you to have estimation on how wide the stand should be, avoiding the chance of buying Plasma stands or LCD stands of over or under size.

Another thing you need to take note of is the size of the LCD TV or plasma TV you have. Stands for TV are designed on specific sizes keeping the standard size of the TV screens in mind. You certainly do not want to buy a wide TV stand just based on the measurement of the room's area.

Once you are clear about the size of the TV screens and space, think about the kind of wide TV stands you will require. Decide on your needs, which mean what you expect out of the TV stand you buy. There are stands which provide simple flat surface where the LCD and Plasma can be mounted with ease. In case you want a storage area below the surface to fit in your DVD player, cable boxes, tape collections, home theater system, etc, there are stands which come along with extra shelves below the surface. The more number of shelves and cabinets you require the costlier your stand gets.

These TV stands are also available in different colors made of different materials. Generally for Plasma stands and LCD TV stands metal and glass stands are most preferred. They also come in wood if you want to match them with your room interiors. TV stands in black are more suitable for plasma and LCD screens. Plasma stands these days come in more contemporary designs with mounting system for easy and attractive installation.

Ginny Sandhu writes for Furnitureopia an online furniture store having vast collection of Home Furniture, Kids Furniture, Office Furniture, Bedroom Furniture, Living Room Furniture, Dining Room Furniture, Accent Furniture, Day Beds, Outdoor Patio Furniture and much more.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Ginny_Sandhu

LG 47SL9000 Review

For the last several years, LG has been known as one of the premium manufacturers of consumer electronics in the world today. This is especially so when it comes to the quality of the flat-panel, liquid crystal display televisions that the company produces. The LG 47SL9000 LED TV is no different, and this particular model is fairly stunning in its slimness and characteristics, it must be said.

For starters, this 47 inch liquid crystal display television makes use of high-tech LED backlighting rather than more traditional fluorescent backlighting around the edges of its picture screen. Because it uses LEDs, LG can deliver a 47 inch television that is so thin and seamless one might think that one is getting a TV that is somehow missing something from the casing and the like, but it won't be.

In fact, this particular LG 47SL9000 is packed full of high-tech features. It is a true high definition model, meaning that it displays its pictures at 1080 pixels, which is the standard nowadays when it comes to a television being able to claim that it is actually high definition. This is complemented by an advertised 3,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio, meaning colors will be extremely vivid and sharp.

LG makes use of what it calls "TruMotion" technology to deliver motion on the display panel that is so fluid one would be hard-pressed to catch any sort of artifacts or smearing even with a magnifying glass or a microscope and a high-speed camera. It's made possible through use of a 100 Hz motion control engine in the LG 47SL9000 that works so smoothly one might think one is looking out a window at real-life action instead of at a television.

The television is also well-equipped in a number of other ways. Because it uses LEDs to backlight the display screen, it is extremely energy-efficient, meaning that it will consume up to 40% less energy than comparable fluorescent-lit LCD TVs. Additionally, LG has included its Sensor2 technology that adjusts the picture screen brightness to take into account the viewing environment, which is another feature designed to help it save energy.

There are a number of useful hookups and interface ports supplied with this particular LG 47SL9000 LCD/LED TV as well. It has four standard HDMI ports and can support Bluetooth devices quite easily. The included surround sound audio system works well, though no TV sounds as nice when it isn't hooked up to a good home theater system, so keep that in mind when considering purchasing this TV.

The TV comes with several different tuners, including an analog TV tuner and a digital TV tuner as well as a variety of video features. Combine that with what LG calls its "Borderless" TV design, and it's hard to see how such a sleek and extremely feature-equipped LCD TV would make for a good candidate for most any size viewing area. Excellent picture and stunning thinness all present themselves at even a casual glance.

Coming in at a price of between 1100 and 1600 British pounds, the LG 47SL9000 LED TV offers a great many features and functions that televisions costing several hundred pounds more don't offer. Its 47 inch viewing area is complemented by the LED backlighting to give a viewer a picture that is first rate. It's true high definition and is very versatile in the ways in which it can connect to a variety of other components. There's a great deal to like about this particular TV, in other words.

Reviews and Cheapest Price in the UK for the LG 47SL9000 at 47SL9000 and LG 47SL9000 Review.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

LG 47LF7700 Review

A review of the LG 47LF7700 television is quite easy once one takes a few moments to get a look at this handsome liquid crystal display (LCD) TV. As a manufacturer of high-quality consumer electronics, LG has lately come on strong in the marketplace for televisions of this kind, many of which are eagerly sought after for their abilities. This particular 47 inch model is no exception.

This particular LG TV comes to us ready for high-definition and able to deliver stunning picture resolution in 1920x1080p. What this means is that the color and clarity, along with the richness, of the display will be particularly fine. 1080p is considered the industry standard for televisions of such quality as this one, and is five times better than what a standard definition TV can produce.

In truth, 1080p is really what industry experts refer to as "true high definition." Prior to the advent of 1080p, televisions of this sort (flat-panel, LCD and plasma) display their images in 720p or lower, which was fine but which wasn't really true high-definition TV. This LG is a favorite of video game enthusiasts and fans of Blu-Ray DVD format movies and players.

Additionally, LG has sweetened the pot with this television by including its Tru Motion package which will display images at 100 per second (100 Hz). As a point of reference, standard definition television is only capable of -- at most -- displaying 50 frames per second. The LG, with its capability, can almost eliminate entirely any blurring that may result, especially in fast moving scenes.

Helpfully, the manufacturer has also provided three HDMI ports to enable a number of components to be hooked up to the LG 47LF7700. So, if one has a Blu-Ray DVD player (or any other DVD player with HDMI capability) he or she can run it through the TV quite easily along with a home theater system and maybe a stereo system or something else. It can be almost like sitting in a movie theater, in fact.

In the European market -- and especially in the United Kingdom -- LG includes the Freesat HD system for this particular model. It can access more than 140 BBC and ITV digital radio and television channels, and all for free. To help with picture display, LG has also included the Intelligent Sensor system which automatically makes adjustments to the display in keeping with the viewing environment.

As an illustrative example, if the LG 47LF7700 TV is placed in a room with changing light conditions (i. E. Sometimes high light and sometimes low light) it will sense such changes and make automatic adjustments to the display so that the best display possible is put up at all times. And for those who want to view computer JPEG and MPEG files, the TV also provides USB 2. 0 port interface capability.

To conclude our review, LG as a manufacturer of high-quality consumer electronics has really come into its own these last several years. The LG 47LF7700 47 inch liquid crystal display television is sure to do its part in propelling LG to ever greater heights in the consumer electronics marketplace.

Reviews and Cheapest Price in the UK for the LG 47LF7700 at 47LF7700 and 47LF7700 Review

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

LG 47SL9000 - Review

There are so many aspects to consider in a review of the new LG 47SL9000 LED TV. It has a stylish Frameless design with a glossy black finish. And underneath its trendy looks come great features and advanced technology to make the picture bright and crystal clear.

LG's SL9000 series of HDTV's have LED's that light up from the edge of the screen. This makes the LCD much thinner than its counterparts. It might not be the thinnest set that you could buy, but measuring just over 4 cm at its sides, this is definitely slim. Looking at the front, you would notice that this TV has no bezel. This is what LG means with its Borderless design.

More contrast generally means better pictures. With this LG 47SL9000 TV's whopping 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio, the pictures that you would see here are simply mind-blowing. And if you haven't already guessed it, the LED lighting also adds up to enliven the picture. It is also fully HD Capable, with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p. This results in stunning detail and really crystal clear pictures in its expansive 47 inch screen.

With superior detail and high resolution, it wouldn't make sense if the TV set can't be viewed on different angles. Many LCD TVs suffer from narrow viewing angles. That is why LG designed this TV to be viewed at 178/178 degrees, wide enough for watching with the whole family.

The LG 47SL9000 LCD TV is equipped with LG's Trumotion 100Hz motion control. Though the refresh rate is not as fast as 200Hz motion control technologies, it is still very effective in minimizing motion blur. Another feature that minimizes blurring is its 2 ms response time. Motion blur is not noticeable when watching fast moving objects on the screen.

If you already have lots of digital input devices at your disposal, then this TV would not disappoint. It has four HDMI ports for digital signals. It also has a multitude of analog input jacks, like a VGA Port and Component Video inputs. It has also a digital audio output for you to connect it directly to your Home Theater System. For digital media formats, this LCD TV has what it takes to get it played. It has a USB Port, Ethernet connection for streaming media from a media center, and Integrated Bluetooth. With Bluetooth technology, you can view pictures and listen to music from your cell phone, and with a Bluetooth Headset, you could even listen to your movies privately.

All good things come with compromises though, and LG have certainly had some missteps with this LG 47SL9000 TV. For one thing, the screen is a bit glossy, which can complicate viewing in brightly lit rooms. Also, as a result of its really skinny physique, the sound quality from its built-in speaker is a little on the tinny side. But for those who plan to hook this up into their home theater set-up, this is just a minor issue since they won't be using the integrated speakers.

With LED technology lighting up the set, this LG 47SL9000 TV has very minimal power consumption, drawing 40% less power than the contemporary LCD technologies. With a very stylish design and breath-taking picture, this new LED TV from LG would be a great addition to your home theater system. Review the LG 47SL9000 before committing to buy a new TV.

Cheapest Prices and a Review for the LG 47SL9000 in the UK at LG 47SL9000 and LG 47SL9000 Review.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

The LG 42LH5000 TV - A Review

Consumer demand for LCD televisions has caused manufacturers to develop more televisions that are affordable for the average customer. The televisions have continually been improved as technological advances have been made. The LG 42LH5000 is a forty-two inch, LCD television that is entering the market at a price that is more affordable than televisions of that size have been previously.

Aesthetically pleasing, this television comes in a black finish with a swivel stand that allows viewing from any corner of a room. Its rounded curvature design and invisible speaker system provide a sleek appearance without compromise to look or quality.

External attachments on the LG 42LH5000 are connected with 3 HDMI inputs ensuring a smoother connection and ports located in front as well as in back provide for easier access with less mess. Additionally, the 42" screen offers 1920x1080 pixels and an intelligent sensor system that automatically adjusts the picture in order to reduce energy costs and eye strain.

The 200Hz engine of this television allows it to calculate three frames of data memory for each single real frame. This allows the fluidity, motion, high picture quality, and adjustable backlight that makes television viewable regardless of how much light is in a room.

The LG 42LH5000 has full HD native resolution and an 80,000:1 contrast ratio. It provides accurate motion and distinct edges on pictures by utilizing the most advanced process designed so far. The picture has image proportionate sensors so that it is wide screen viewing is possible.

The TV has some interesting added features such as the SD (secure digital)-card reader as well as the ability to play back MP3 music, JPEG photos, and other videos. The television has a USB port which will make connecting to a remote easier. In order to receive digital signals through cable or satellite, a person will need an additional set-top box. The television also comes with a 24p Cinema Real for BluRay playback.

The menu organization is very well laid out with clear graphics and easy to read controls and instructions. In addition there are clear instructions for using the remote available on the television set-up menu. This will be of great assistance to individuals who may not be able to master the remote manual that comes with most televisions.

An issue that is present with all LCD screens, and this one as well, is the glare factor. The screen of a LCD television reflects even small bits of light and will disrupt the viewer. This can create a problem if the television is mounted on a wall that faces a window or door. A glare resistant film is available that can be placed over the picture to make viewing in a lighted area easier.

As with any major purchase, research is required before a person makes a major investment in a product. The LG 42LH5000 offers many features at an affordable price and provides the quality available with many of the more expensive LCD televisions currently on the market.

Reviews and Cheapest Price in the UK for the LG 42LH5000 at 42LH5000 and LG 42LH5000 Review

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

Review - LG 42SL9000 LED TV

LG have a good reputation when it comes to listening what consumers want and the 42SL9000 is a prime example. The SL9000 series has been built with you in mind; from Bluetooth support to the huge selection of connectivity options, this HDTV is certainly one to watch.

Whilst the 42SL9000 might be missing an Ethernet port we found that the TV provides plenty of other ways of getting videos and images to the TV. LG have managed to merge functionality and beauty into their Borderless SL9000 series without forcing buyers to pay over the odds. The fabrication process gives the set a very minimal, yet modern, feel.

The slimline body of the panel still manages to house all the control buttons you need so if you lose your remote you can still control the TV manually. LG have made sure that, even if you do lose both remote commanders, the TV is still usable.

The on-screen menu system is quite simply one of the best we've tested so far. Not only are they easy to use but they have enough advanced features to keep even the most battle hardened flat screen enthusiast happy. The onboard picture wizard provides a fast and effective way of setting up all your preferences with a few simple clicks of the remote. Preferences can be saved to memory which means that any changes you make can be easily rolled back. Another nice feature is the ability to rename your inputs making it easier to recall specific connections such as your PS3 port.

The 42SL9000 LED TV also comes with an eco-saving mode design to cut down on power consumption. Nothing new but definitely a welcome addition. At this point, the only weak spot on the TV is the EPG. Because the 42SL9000 has an onboard Freeview tuner, the number of channels visible in the planner make it hard to see exactly where you are. The SL9000 has been designed for simple set-up straight out of the box. Tuning is the television is simple as it's automatic and any updates require and pulled down in a flash.

The HD images aren't the best on the market but for the price it's pretty impressive - clear images with a succulent range of colours and shades. Motion control is the now standard 100Hz and does a very good job of handling fast moving scenes. The frame rate did produce a few blurs but this was a very rare occurrence. If you want flawless motion control you're going to have to pay up for another TV that features 200Hz technology and this isn't cheap.

The LED's arranged around the edge of the screen is one of the highlights of this TV. The LED's give you a pretty decent range and depth of blacks but, unfortunately, it can't compete with the likes of the KDL 46X45000. We did notice traces of light 'leaking' from the edge of the screen but only during the credits and very dark scenes. Sadly, the audio output of the 42SL9000 was lacking. We noted that input from external devices such as a home theatre resulted a loss of synch between video and audio playback. Once we turned off the TV's audio enhancements this annoyance simply disappeared.

Some critics have noted that the TV has a poor audio output but we thought it was fine for the price. What do we think? LG's SL9000 delivers an excellent mix of features and stunning looks. It's not cheap but, then again, LG's new breed of LED TV's provide a viable, and extremely capable, alternative to the more costly flat screens currently on the market. The audio synch problem was the only major frustration but we can live with it and we're sure that anyone wanting a cracking, highly capable LED TV will be more than happy with the LG 42SL9000.

My name is Paul K Smith and I own LG 42SL9000. They specialize in consumer electronics like microwaves, refrigerators, washing machines and the like. But you would be hard pressed to find a section of the consumer electronics market that they haven't taken by storm like they have in the HDTV television niche section of the market. LG HDTV is offered in a wide range of models and model lines. Each model line offers standard performance and price for that segment of the market. The most expensive LG TV's are often the best performing ones. As with any electronic device, the less you pay, the lower the performance. But not every HDTV is like this. LG has introduced the LH85 model line which is designed to hit the mid-range in regards to price and performance. And with most HDTV televisions today, the LH85 models have full 1080p ("p" means progressive) display. But that isn't what makes them different from the rest of the 1080p HDTV's.

What Makes The LG LH85 Model Line Unique?

The reason the LH85 models are different is that they are connected by HDMI over a wireless connection. The media output box connects all of your peripherals into it. And then transmits the signal to the television wirelessly "in the clear". Think about that for a moment. No longer will you need to run HDMI cables to the television and create an ugly, wired mess. You can now mount the television on the wall and still maintain aesthetic appearances.

This wireless aspect allows you to place the media housing anywhere that the signal can reach the tv and still get good quality, high definition television.

If you are looking for a way to "hide the wires" when setting up your HDTV, think about LG's LH85 model line and smile a great big smile!

John loves to teach people about the new LG HDTV models and how to compare HDTV televisions

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Talbern

LG 32LH5000 TV - One For Your Shortlist?

The LG 32LH5000 is one of LG's inexpensive televisions that is offered in the U. K. This thirty-two inch set offers 100HZ processing, and 1080 pixels of resolution. It has flexibility in the picture adjustment and support for extensive multimedia. The cost is about 550 pounds for a top performing television.

Although inexpensive the LG 32LH5000 still offers style with subtle curves, a gleaming finish and a minimalistic aesthetic. The set offers a black bezel with a transparent lip that extends past the bezel and looks great.

There are many connections available to ensure connectivity. In addition to the four HDMI ports, the USB port allows for playback of audio, JPEG and DivX video films. The RS-232 port allows the television to be integrated with an AV system.

The 100 Hz processing is twice that of the 50 Hz usually included in TVs in this price range. The additional refresh rate allows this set to overcome the customary motion blur problems.

As you look through the menus you will find two picture presets that are labeled ISF, initials of the Imaging Science Foundation. These labels mean that the set offers enough flexibility that it can be calibrated by one of ISF's engineers, although you would have to pay for the service.

There are extensive adjustments on the TV, including dynamic colour, Gamma presets, noise reduction and contrast boosters. You are also able to adjust the 100 Hz processor strength.

For the technology challenged, LG has installed a method of making all these adjustments available through a picture wizard that guides the user through a series of test strengths that gets your picture looking its best.

If you must have a television that offers the blackest of black in contrast, this set, like many other LCD televisions, cannot offer it. The set is about average in its black response levels. The problem like with other LCD sets is worse when the viewing angle is larger than 40 degrees. This can cause some problems in dark scenes.

In spite of this, the LG 32LH5000 also has its good points. Pictures are extremely bright, colours are vibrant and rich and on screen movements are very clear.

The set weighs less than twelve kilograms without the stand and less than thirteen kilograms with the stand. It may be used on a tabletop or mounted onto a wall.

Even the sound is not bad for this set. Voices are easily heard and understood. In fact, the Clear Voice processing makes voices have a natural tone. This is a rarity among televisions today that seem to have a tinny sound.

LG rates the lifespan of this television at 60, 000 hours. That is almost seven years of twenty four hour per day operation and much longer at the average daily viewing.

The LG 32LH5000 is a good television for the price. The biggest drawback is one that is common to most LCD televisions, and that is the fact that it has difficulty in producing the blackest black tones. Among LCD televisions, the brightness of the picture can more than make up for this deficiency.

Information on the LG 32LH5000 in the UK at 32LH5000 and 32LH5000 Reviews.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

The LG 26LG4000 - 26 Inch LCD TV From LG With Built in DVD Player

This stunning 26 inch LCD TV from LG is packed with features and is a Full HD TV - meaning you can enjoy a total high definition viewing experience thanks to the advantages of High Definition viewing over SD (standard definition). In addition it has a design that can best be described as being frameless and this is one aspect to this model that has helped to make it a very popular buy, especially as its looks are very trendy as well. This model has a neck that is glistening and this too makes this television set a lot more attractive to look at.

The LG 47SL8000 is a model that offers entertainment in the most seamless manner and in terms of its ability to handle motion this set certainly outdoes itself while there is also a TruMotion 200hz engine that removes every last semblance of blur. This means that if you are a sports buff or you love to watch action movies then with a model such as this your viewing experience is going to be truly amazing.

In addition this model is a complete HD LCD television model and it comes with an HD-ready 1080p panel to ensure that you get the perfect image from HD sources. And, even better, the LG 47SL8000 comes with Bluetooth connectivity which is a truly wonderful feature. In addition the set also boasts of a wonderful contrast ratio of 150000:1 which ensures perfect images and superior brightness.

This model is also equipped with an Intelligent Sensor that will optimize use of brightness and contrast as well as color to perfectly match with existing ambient lighting and at the same time this feature also helps to save power.

If nothing else, the LG 47SL8000 is a wonderful television that provides good connectivity as it boasts of four different HDMIs which allow you to connect to Blue Rays and to game consoles as well as any other device that you want to connect to this television model. In particular, this set is perfect for the gaming addict as in game mode you will get to enjoy some fantastic gaming experiences.

This model also boasts of a USB 2.0 port that then offers support for MP3, JPEG as well as Div X HD Playback. In addition to this, the set comes with 24p Real Cinema that with a solid two hundred hertz engines offers you the best in movie viewing experience. In fact, with so many wonderful features, the 47SL8000 seems to have everything and there is just nothing to find fault with.

Except, that as with all other flat screen televisions, the LG 47SL8000 also does not provide the best sound. On the other hand, this set offers lower energy consumption and wider viewing angles and it also sports among the best multimedia players. The negatives to it are that it could have improved the contrast, and the panel coating is not of the best standards. And, perhaps the images could have been made to look a bit sharper.

Overall, it would be safe to say that if you need a television set that provides you with better viewing angles and if you want to enjoy a true multimedia experience then do seriously review the LG 47SL8000 TV.

Reviews and Cheapest Price in the UK for the LG 47SL8000 at LG 47SL8000 and LG 47SL8000 Review

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Emerson

What is 3D TV?

So, what exactly is 3D TV? 3D TV is the fascinating technology that allows you to experience three-dimensional TV shows, movies and video games with a television. Normally only viewable in the cinema - you will now be able to take that big screen experience into your home.

This emerging technology have many TV developers already producing 3D TV's for the home - and the dream of seeing 3D versions of your favourite films and TV shows are only months away - as 3D TV's will be available in the summer and SKY are dedicating a channel to the wonders of 3D.

So there you are - watching your favourite TV show - and then something leaps out at you - the image literally emerging right out of the TV and into your very room. An image so set-out from the screen that you feel you could reach out and touch it, or duck underneath it, or turn around to watch it from the side. That is 3DTV. You will be able to watch your favourite sports with the 3D perspective, which means you can feel as if you are right in their with the action. Feel the spray of mud from a touchdown or cringe from the smack and crunch of a hospital pass gets tackled in the red zone.

3D Television sets will use a variety of techniques to present a 3D image. The techniques include stereoscopic capture, multi-view capture or 2D plus depth imaging. These different techniques will mean that programmes will be viewed in a realistic three dimensional field - so that the image spills out of the TV set and into your home, so that you can almost feel the picture as it looms before you.

So - what is 3D TV? It is the future of your viewing pleasure.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Adrian_S_Hall

Taking a Look at 3D TV Technology

While many people are looking forward to having 3D TV sets in their homes in the near future, it might be a while before suitable materials are produced for televisions that support 3D viewing. Another problem is getting the 3D television sets to come down to a price that can be consumer friendly so people can actually buy the sets and make the switch from their current non 3D models. While the latest developments have come to look quite promising, understanding a little about this technology will help us understand whether the technology will be easily developed or not.

The historical development of 3D imaging was seen in the 1800s, when the first Stereoscope was developed by David Brewster. This device was made to take photographs in three dimensional forms. Since. The first Kinematoscope came about in the year 1855 and people viewed the first anaglyph movie in the early 1900s named "The Power of Love." Presently this technology is being developed so that it can be used in television sets by home viewers.

There are currently a number of methods through which 3D images can be produced and displayed on screen. These are actually projection methods for stereoscopic image pairs which the viewer can view. The methods include the Anaglyphic method which uses passive cyan-red glasses; Polarization method which requires passive polarized glasses; Alternate frame sequencing which require head gear or glasses with active shutter mechanism and Auto-stereoscopic displays which can be viewed without the need of glasses and head wear.

Many companies are focused on developing the kind of Auto stereoscopic technology which can be viewed without the help of glasses. This is because glasses can be limiting and restrict the viewer in a number of ways. It is also impractical to wear the glasses for long periods of time as it can give the viewer head aches and other problems if worn for too long. This is why development of auto stereoscopic methods is very important if the 3D TV technology really needs to win over the consumer market. Unless these television sets are developed, 3D technology cannot make its mark on the users on a larger scale. This sophisticated technology needs to be developed so that more than two viewers can look at the television screen and actually be able to view proper 3D imaging.

The idea behind these auto-stereoscopic television sets is that they rely on the human ability to see different depths and images from both eyes. The viewing screen is created in such a way that both eyes see completely different images. The image has to be sent in a way that left eye receives its own specific image and the right eye receives the imagery meant specifically for the right side. While the display looks like regular TV screen, the screen is actually fitted with a plastic lenticular sheet in front of the display screen which is home to a number of tiny lenses that work towards refracting the light from the display pixels. This refraction causes each eye to receive a different image and hence be able to view the image in 3D.

While otherwise feasible, at the moment this 3D TV technology is not good enough to allow the viewer to sit anywhere other than directly in front of the television set. This is why there is still a lot of development required to be able to make a display for people standing at any given angle. There are eye tracking systems that can incorporate this but using that technology in the television screen will just raise the costs too high for the consumer to afford. Another problem is developing a means to broadcast the required information with ease. Once these problems have been overcome 3D TV can then seriously be considered a serious option to replace all current television sets in consumer homes.

Johnny Hall is a self confessed techy geek who guest writes both 3D TV and OLED TV.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Johnny_Hall

3DTV Technology Review

3DTV Technology

Have you heard about the latest technology for 2010? Are you ready for it? The answer is 3DTV or three-dimensional television viewing in your home. This new technology is beginning to appear on the market and may be coming to a living room near you or maybe even your own. The top manufactures are now releasing the new 3D televisions to the public in 2010.

You probably know a little about 3D viewing. Some of us remember in the late 50's seeing movie films which required special glasses that you put on and the film took on a different look. It was very exciting as the action seemed to be coming towards you. Even with the film Avatar, that won a couple of Oscars in 2010, you need special glasses which were included in the admission price at the movie theater. So if you saw the movie you have already had a taste of the 3D movie experience.

3DTV Manufacturers

How would you like to experience the feeling of action coming toward you in the comforts of your own living room? It is most exciting to watch a baseball game and have the pitch come right at you or see the base runner stir up some dust. Just think how neat it would be to share this experience with your family in your living room. The manufacturers that began selling these 3D TV's in late 2009 were: Mitsubishi, Phillips, Sharp and Samsung. Now in 2010 you can add these companies: Sony, LG and Panasonic to the list of 3DTV's.

Sony released their version late in 2009 with the LX900, HX900 and HX800. The HX900 comes in 46 and 52-inch models. Viewing requires individuals to wear special glasses which come with the TV. The glasses offer a 120 degree viewing angle. Sony's glasses are powered by a battery and are synced with the television set. Besides Sony, Samsung and Mitsubishi have also released 3DTV's this year.

Differences With 3DTV?

One draw back for this new technology is that you need to wear the 3D glasses. Unfortunately only 2 pair comes with the TV; therefore if you have a family larger than 2 you will need to purchase additional glasses. This could get costly especially if you have a large family and you want to have extras for your guests that you may have over especially during the holidays.

As for interesting features, 3D TV's can be viewed in normal mode. Some manufacturers are also providing a conversion option from 2D to 3D. As the 3D TV's become more popular it is predicted that additional features will be available.

What Is Coming?

Samsung has partnered with Hollywood to debut films using the 3D format. Thus, when you see a film in the theater you may be able to see it in 3D at home. The media for such movies is Blu-ray. Initially there will be limited number of movies and programs that are 3D viewable. The number of movies should increase as time goes on.

As for the cost, in general the 3D TV's cost anywhere from $600 to $900 more than regular TV's of the same size viewing screen. As with any new product, the initial price is higher. The longer they are on the market, the more the price will lower.

The best way for you to get a feel for this new technology is to call a large shopping mall near you and ask if they have it on display. Seeing it first hand is the best way to know if this is something you want. Be sure to take your entire family with you. Their reaction may be quite different from yours.

Happy viewing!

On my website at http://www.findoutmorequickly.com/3dtv_general_page.html there are additional pages which provide readers with customer reviews for top selling 3DTV's, product features and technical details and purchase links for 3D glasses and TV models. Not only has 3D conquered the movie and the gaming industries, it has also conquered the television industry.

For instance, BSkyB of United Kingdom broadcasted the game between the Arsenal-Manchester United in 3D. Only nine pubs across Eire and UK have played the game, but it was a huge success all the same. A press release followed suit, saying that a full 3D channel will be presented to cable subscribers.

Even ESPN has promised to release a 3D channel of their own; featuring more than eighty sports events to be broadcasted in TV. The partnership of Discovery, Sony and IMAX will not be left behind, saying that they too, will follow suit.

With these breakthroughs in technology for entertainment, we would not want to be left behind. It is high-time that we invest in equipment that will enhance our viewing pleasure - 3D ready DVD players and television sets. However, there is no doubt that purchasing these can be a heavy on the wallet.

But this does not mean that those who cannot afford such items will not be able to experience 3D entertainment. If you do not want to purchase all this equipment, you can also opt for the 3D TV converter.

With this device, you do not need to wait for broadcasters to launch their 3D channels or even shows in 3D. With a 3D TV converter, you can watch your favorite shows, sports events and even ordinary 2D DVDs in 3D! You can use your ordinary 2D TV and DVD player.

The 3D TV converter is a lot cheaper. It is less expensive than buying the complete 3D equipment ensemble. 2D to 3D TV converters cost only around $100. Just a small investment for a full-size entertainment!

3D TV converters have been around since 2004, but the public did not welcome it as much as today. The public's view of 3D viewing has drastically changed since 3D films have been released, particularly since the release of the "Avatar", the most successful 3D film to date.

A 3D TV converter is plug and play equipment that is connected by wire to your DVD player and to your 2D TV set. The equipment then transforms the 2D video into Real 3D, which you can view in your television with the help of 3D glasses. You can also use this for gaming by plugging it in between your game console and your television.

It is easy to use and is cheaper than buying a 3D-ready television and a 3D DVD player, which makes it an amiable buy for TV buffs and movie lovers.

Find out more about 3d DVD and what 3d DVD movies are available on the market.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rick_E._Thompson

How New 3D TV Technology Will Change the Scope of Future Movie Making

The box office is on fire with 3D movies right now thanks to 'Avatar' setting the tone with it's advanced 3D technology. Since then a lot of current films are out in 3D at theaters for us to enjoy and of course we anticipate the arrival of their release on Blu-ray disc so it can be a joy to watch 3d TV at home.

A lot of big Hollywood producers have been awaken to the fact that 3D is gaining popularity, even if the movie stinks the special effects of 3-D is enough to keep you watching. I just know a crop of "B" rated films will emerge with a weak storyline but have plenty of third dimensional effects, one genre in particular is Horror. Since the technology of 3D is nothing new and not a lot of work to implement, I can see plenty of blood and gore squirting off screen right in your shocked horrified face! Sounds like fun for those of us who love the art of horror movies.

Not only movies will be going 3D crazy but plenty of TV shows and video games, so pretty much anything visible and in motion will begin to emerge on the scene. There is even the possibility if 3D based blogs and websites coming in the future thanks to the film makers intriguing visions of the new enhanced 3D reality that has come into focus in their new way of producing motion pictures.

It will not stop there, I have read rumors of 3D video cameras for home use and editing software to support it. That can be done now but the newer technology will make it that more easier for the average "videophile" to make 3D home movies so the 3D TV technology will eventually come full circle.

Read my in depth reviews about everything 3D here: http://www.squidoo.com/3d-tv-technology and learn more about how 3D technology and accessories enhance the viewing experience.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Marc_Black

Is it Worth Investing in 3D TV Now?

What is actually 3D TV?

Before discussing this issue, it is important for one to have an understanding of what is actually the 3D TV we are talking about now.

The short answer is that 3D television is a display technology that enables viewers in the home to experience TV programs, movies and video games in what is referred to as a stereoscopic effect. It relies on the use of stereopsis or separation, to add the illusion of a third dimension to an otherwise two-dimensional flat image.

This illusion is created by simultaneously displaying two separate full-size but slightly different images of the same scene - one for the left eye and the other for the right eye. The differences in the two images are intended to mimic in very simple terms, the way the human vision system sees an object. The distance separating the eyes of a human being - referred to as interpupillary distance - helps the eyes see objects from a slightly different angle, leading to two slightly but distinct images. The brain processes these differences to generate among others, relative depth information to create the 3-dimensional image.

However, the way 3D TV generates a 3D image is not exactly in line with the way we see an object in space in that while 3D TV relies on image separation only, human vision uses both image separation and eye focusing cues to determine image depth. For many, this is not much of an issue in that image separation is often sufficient for the brain to determine relative image depth. However, this difference leads to a number of undesirable effects with 3D TV such as disorientation and in some cases, even headaches.

What is different from the 3D we have seen in the recent past is that now we are talking about a 3D experience that can support a 1080p HD image for each eye. Up to now, this was not possible.

Challenges of 3D in the Home

Well, 3D TV in the home has become a reality but... we believe that 3D Television still has to overcome a few serious issues before it will become a true mainstream technology in home entertainment.

In other words, it will still take a few more years for 3D TV technology to become the mainstream TV technology in the home.

Technology is still very expensive to be affordable by the average family. Suffice to say that at the present prices, a typical 3D HDTV and two pairs of 3D-glasses - (3D glasses are necessary for the displayed image by a 3D TV set to appear as a 3D illusion) cost some $1,000 more than a 2D equivalent HDTV. And two sets of glasses are the bare minimum; you a pair of 3D glasses for each member of the family viewing 3D TV content.

3D glasses - 3D TV's necessary evil: We mentioned the 3D glasses. The issue with the glasses does not stop at their expensive price tag (circa $150 per pair). The added inconvenience brought about by the necessary 3D glasses is definitely something that not even TV makers know if the end consumer would eventually accept. You see, wearing a pair of 3D glasses for an extended period to watch one of the latest Blu ray movies in 3D is an acceptable compromise. But to enjoy all your TV viewing with a rather over sized 3D glasses is another matter.

3D experience in the home is different from that enjoyed at the movie theater. While there is no doubt that the 3D TV experience in the home is definitely pleasing, yet it is less immersive and impressive than in the movie theater.

3D Content: True 3D TV content is a scarce resource and no matter what the movie and entertainment industry will be doing in this respect, it will remain so for a number of years to come in comparison to what you have in 2D. It is true that some 3D HDTVs come with a 2D-to-3D converter but this would be like the vague virtual surround you get from an old stereo recording.

Upgrade Reluctance: Many have just upgraded from their tube TV to a flat panel TV; some have even got a step further and purchased their second LCD or plasma TV. These are still enjoying their 'new' HDTV purchase and I do not think that they will be the once to upgrade to the latest 3D TV technology - at least for now and at the present pricing.

We discuss these challenges and the future of 3D TV in the home in a detailed article here: http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/3d-tv-2.html.

Andrew Ghigo - An Electronics engineer by profession, a keen home theater enthusiast, with a lifelong interest in home electronics and a devoted audiophile. At the top of the league Arsenal versus Manchester United game, played at the Emirates stadium in London on Sunday January 31st, the UK based broadcaster transmitted two live feeds, one to it's traditional Sky Sports subscribers domestic and commercial and another 3D feed to 9 selected pubs and clubs across 5 cities in England, Scotland, Wales and Eire.

This move came in advance of it's planned April 2010 dedicated 3D channel nation wide launch and bestowed on the lucky punters the honor of being the first people to watch a live broadcast in 3D any where in the world. The transmission was broadcast using two different production and commentary teams and two separate camera crews.

When launched, Sky's 3D channel will be available to existing subscribers to their Sky plus HD service at no additional cost. Of course these 1.6 million customers will need to upgrade to a new LCD 3d TV system to be able to take advantage of the service and the company expects the commercial side of the business to be the ones to drive the sports service forward. The company have however provided customers with a small carrot in the form of the promise of at least one premier league game broadcast live each week, but only when demand rises.

There are some down sides to 3D for TV, namely the upgrade so hot on the heels of HDTV and Blu Ray winning the war of the DVD players but we are all aware that the promise of an amazing, complete package of real 3d TV that includes shows, movies and sport will eventually entice us back to the store for another upgrade.

Noel Swinton is an online consumer electronics reporter. All that is required is a terrestrial aerial. No subscription is necessary. The BBC HD picture looks crystal clear with a sharp, detailed display. Even though the edges of the display tend to appear a bit fuzzy and there is a soft video background noise, the advanced fills the screen size beautifully, and is a definite improvement over older models.

If you take a peek at the inside of the TV, you will see only a couple of multi tasking microchips that perform all of the processing for the video operations. The standard definition is the result of the video processing.

Samsung UE40C7000 - Internet Widgets

Samsung has changed its TV widgets from the Yahoo engine, to its proprietary applications (apps.) These apps appear to load more quickly and have popular uses such as the LoveFilm download services and the BBC iPlayer. Samsung provides 5 apps displayed in a row, with 3 optional rows of apps below.

Samsung UE40C7000 -More Unique Features

From a PC to a TV, this HD TV gives you the capability to stream files over a network in your home. From an external hard drive, you may open video, music and picture files through 1 of 2 USB connection ports just as before. But now, you may record these files on a hard drive. You may record directly onto a USB flash drive or an external hard disc drive, right off a Freeview HD tuner. It can easily be stored as a MPEG-4 file.

How The 3D Samsung UE40C7000 3D TV HDTV Works

You will see images on the Samsung UE40C7000 that look slightly softer than an average HD. However, what you are seeing are 1080p images that are flashed alternately, into your eyes, when the shutter glasses become open and block the lens in sync with the flickering from the TV screen. This capability produces a convincingly real HD 3D.

Nick Wild is an electrical Engineer from Bristol with over 40 years experience working in the TV industry as an advisor and product designer for some of the biggest brands in the World.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nick_Wild

3D TV Ready For Sports to Drive Sales of 3D Enabled TV Systems

With all the major consumer electronics companies clambering to rush out 3D enabled TV systems, you are probably asking yourself is this the time to buy a 3D TV.

One of the main sales periods for new TVs, outside of Christmas, has always been linked to major sporting events. Yes those annual sporting events will send a spike in sales but the sports events that take place every four years and span two, three or four weeks have always been the "holy grail" for television manufacturers and retailers. The Olympics, winter and summer, Rugby world cup, the Ashes series, Commonwealth Games and the mother of all sporting events, for global following anyway, The Football World Cup.

Two of the main pioneers of 3D broadcasting are ESPN in America and BSkyB in the UK and Europe. These two major television media companies are pushing hard to get the technology finalized (and no doubt in budget) to coincide with the global launch of 3D enabled TV by the likes of Panasonic and Samsung. C.E.S. earlier this year showed the consumer that they will not have to wait too long for these 3D TV systems to make their appearance.

So back to the burning question; Will it be worth you buying one of these new models? To answer this I guess you need to ask yourself if it's sport you will be happy in watching for a while and given that it has been sport that has driven the majority of all other broadcasting advances, then I have to say the answer is a resounding yes.

2010 sees that global phenomenon that is the F.I.F.A Football (soccer for all you North Americans) World Cup. Attracting a global audience of over 26,000,000,000, yes that's 28 billion, viewers spread across 214 countries collectively receiving in excess of 73,000 hours of broadcasts. Can you see how this could influence both the broadcasters and manufacturers decisions.

Talk is that the first game in 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa, between the hosts South Africa and Mexico, will be broadcast in 3D. I have a feeling that BSkyB will be capable of screening one of the UK or European domestic finals in 3D during the early part of this summer. I believe ESPN have also committed to about one hundred football (that's the other football) games in three dimension during this year.

It seems the testing has been done, the finishing touches are being applied and the costs are being trimmed in readiness for a big spring/summer launch. As hard as the manufacturers are pushing for a launch, it is no use getting this technology into the market if the content is not there. These two companies will be the ones that drive sales and subsequently take TV sport to the next logical level.

So what is it to be, is your sports viewing important enough for you to buy a 3D enabled TV because it does seem at the present time that sport is all you will have to watch on your brand new 3D TV. I know heaven isn't it.

Noel Swinton is an online consumer electronics reporter. Great! You're going to love the new age of TV. The thing is, which to get? A Sony HD Plasma TV is a great idea when you're thinking of upgrading to the new era of TV technology, but what are the things to make sure you are sure of first? Let's take a look.

Plasma TV or LCD TV?

First of all, you'll have to decide between plasma and LCD. There are benefits of both kinds of new flat-screens, but if you're after absolute clear definition for your favourite movies, LCD may be the better option for you. Plasma TVs are arguably better all-round TVs, but LCDs are certainly better with film clarity.

The Price

Make sure you settle on a figure you're comfortable with paying, and one that you know you will be able to stick to. Check out what's on offer around the net and in other stockists and get to know the rough amount that you'll be looking at to pay for your new Sony HD Plasma TV.

The Size

What sort of size are you looking for? Check a few different sizes out, so that you can plan for where it will go, how it will be viewed and so on. It is important that you do this at this early stage to avoid annoyance later on.

Connectivity

Make sure you are aware of what connectors are needed to use your Sony HD Plasma TV. You may have some already, but be sure you have the right HDMI cables and so on at your disposal. Also make sure your DVD/Blu Ray players and TV boxes are compatible. They should all be anyway, but it is always best to make sure.

Keep these things in mind when looking to buy your new digital HD TV, and you can be sure to be satisfied with the model you choose.

Pete is a long-time electronics fan who is loving the digital age and all of the advances it has brought. The 3D TV ready set now boast a beautiful panel display which comes without any surrounding frame, a bit like what Apple has done with its displays for iMac. The innovative Monolithic design uses a glass and aluminum for supporting the TV.

LED Use

In addition, these LCD panels will be backlit by LEDs rather than almost exclusively by fluorescent tubes. The new LX900, HX900, NX800 or EX700 for example, use LED.

Sony includes 3D TV technology

It's official, Sony TV marketed this year will be 3D TV compatible. This is the conventional system which scans at 200 Hz and viewed by special 3D LCD shutter viewing glasses. The new Pro Advanced 200Hz Motionflow technology used in the TVs will continue to eliminate judder and ghosting for clearer images for a better viewing experience.

''I see you!''

Some Sony TV models due to be released on the market can detect the presence and absence of viewer in front of the screen and thus switch on if a viewer is in front of the screen or switch off if no one is there. The feature is designed to lower power consumption, if no one is in the room in front of the TV. The light sensor has been optimized to adapt not only to the intensity of the backlight, but also to color temperature and lighting of the room. This is a feature that seems a bit strange at first since you would think that the colors of the TV depend directly on the color and temperature of the backlight and not that of the room. We will have to see how the feature works in real life and how it actually reacts to surroundings.

Internet and online content

Sony continues to develop TV technology designed for improved online content directly from the TV. Some TVs can access this internet content directly over wifi without using an Ethernet cable. The content itself does not change since Sony maintain its privileged partnership with M6 and M6 Replay for watching specific content. It is also possible to watch videos from YouTube and Dailymotion, and access to widgets is also available to display e.g. RSS feeds of user's choice

Learn more about the latest releases of 3D Tvs on this 3D Televisions website, including further reading on the Sony 3D TV.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Sonia_Smith

Sony Kdl40z5500 Review - 40" LCD TV

Technology is changing continuously, and it is becoming more and more innovative with every passing day. The future of TV sets is about improved quality, slimness and 3D capability. CES 2010 in Las Vegas came to an end on the 10th of January. After taking a close look at the HDTVs on display, we've outlined the trends predicted for 2010 and shortlisted this year's most exciting launches.

After a year of speculation, top TV manufacturers confirmed that 2010 will be the year of 3D television - with manufacturers like LG, Sony, Samsung and Toshiba announcing that 3D TV sets will be on sale in the UK by April. With Sky announcing that 3D broadcasting will be available by October, we strongly recommend that if you are planning on investing in a new HDTV set, go for a 3D one.

OLED is also set to be the next big thing in picture quality. The only problem is that manufacturers like LG can only make OLED TV as big as 15 inches; however we expect to see bigger sets over the next few years as the technology inevitably advances. OLED (which stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode) produces super crisp pictures with unbelievable quality and definition.

So, that's enough small talk. Let's get down to our list of best HDTV's set to hit the shops in 2010...

LG Infinia LE9500 3D-Ready LED TV

For those who were lucky enough to be at this year's CES will testify that LG's 6.9mm model is the world's thinnest LED TV. LG's Infinia LE9500 3D-Ready LED TV comes equipped with an arsenal of innovations that includes 3D-Ready support, Skype capabilities and streaming media from Netflix, VUDU, YouTube, Napster and Yahoo! Widgets.. With this model, LG have broken conventions of LED TV design by transforming the screen into the actual speakers - which allows it to be so thin without compromising sound quality.

Toshiba Cell TVs

Besides using the same type of processor used in the PlayStation 3 and offering native 3D capability, Toshiba has packed its next generation of HDTVs with every feature we ever dreamed of. Toshiba also claims that, thanks to a new technology called TriVector Cell, TV series will be able to convert 2D content into 3D content in real time. No demo was available so we'll have to hold off our judgement for now.

Samsung LED 9000 Series

The 900 series is the next gen of Samsung's LED LCD TVs and the flagship model the Samsung C9000 is perhaps one of the slickest TV sets we've ever set eyes on. Just so you can comprehend the C900's sleekness: the model is the same width as a number two pencil. The Samsung C900 is of course 3D, and is also capable of converting 2D content into 3D, again no demo was available.

LG 15-inch OLED TV

Despite its size, the LG 15-inch OLED TV is the biggest possible OLED TV to date, but give a few more years and we'll see 26, 36, 47-inch OLED TV sets. OLED is the future of HDTV, this LG OLED produces super crisp picture with and absolutely stunning picture quality.

Sony 3D Bravia TV

As expected, Sony also caught the 3D flu that contaminated the world's top television manufacturers and also introduced a new series of 3D TVs at this year's CES. Sony will offer three separate lines of 3D Bravia HDTVs. The LX900 series, due out this summer, is available in size up to 60 inches and includes an edge-lit LED backlight system. Other features include 240Hz processing, integrated WiFi and two active shutter glasses for watching 3D content. It features what Sony calls a Monolithic industrial design with a smooth glass surface from edge to edge.

The consumer electronics giant also used the 3D wave to introduce its first 3D-capable Blu-ray player with WiFi connectivity and instant streaming of online content.

Cosnumer Electroncis enthusiast fanatic for HDTVs.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Felipe_Bazon

Put Your TV Set on Center Stage With a Corner TV Armoire

There are times when homebodies tend to put too much stuff inside their house. The worst thing about this is that, although they are meant for home entertainment purposes, these pieces only make the living space quite a jam-packed little nook. It is not very flattering to have your visitors point it out, so the right thing to do is to eliminate unimportant furniture pieces that huddle together, and boast your entertainment system. If you want to make your home entertainment center a standout, try adding a corner TV cabinet to your furniture list.

For those who are not familiar with versatile home furniture pieces, a corner TV armoire is a huge box that resembles a horizontal cabinet. It is especially made to contain TV set and other home entertainment equipments such as DVD players, game consoles and speakers. When these equipments are not in use, the doors can be closed to conceal them. TV armoires are also great for storing a variety of items either to keep them away from plain sight or to showcase them as well. Corner TV armoires are generally made from quality wood. Cherry and oak wood are often the well-loved variety for these TV storage boxes. Wood offers a rustic look that makes the home entertainment center a welcoming space, even in a rather modern-themed home.

The fact that corner TV armoires are suitable for occupying a dull corner of the living room makes these living room pieces a good buy. Those who have problems with space can do well with armoires. A corner TV armoire efficiently fills the corner so you can have enough space to accommodate more guests. Aside from keeping the TV in a nice position, TV armoires help conceal tangled stuffs such as electric cables and other wirings. Most of these 'TV cabinets' also have pullout trays and adjustable compartments for easy equipment operation.

There are hundreds of styles available for the corner TV cabinet, and most of them can only be found in the internet. They also come in different shades. You can choose the right color by considering the theme of the house and the kind of TV set you that you have. Although wood is the primary material in almost all TV armoires, there are some that have glass panels and metal details. The glass doors for small compartments are perfect for displaying some items like books and picture frames. Depending on the storage capacity, TV cabinets can hold enough items that you want to store away. No wonder they are great space-savers for your home, as well as perfect pieces to display your TV set.

Want to learn more about Corner TV Armoire? If you answer is no, you are not alone. All are not created equally when it comes to the world of cable television. Depending on where you live you might have lots of options when it comes to television or you might only have one or two. The more urban the area that you live in, the more likely you are to have more options, but not everyone lives in an urban area. This means that you might be very limited in your options with cable. On top of that, there are areas where cable isn't available at all. So what are these people to do? Are they left to not have access to the same programming that people in more suburban and urban areas have? Luckily there is a great alternative to cable television and that option is satellite TV.

With satellite TV, whether you don't care for the cable options in your area or the cable options aren't available, you can still enjoy all the benefits of great programming. The only thing you need to get started with satellite television is a clear view of the southern sky. This is necessary because you need a clear path in which to send and receive data from your personal satellite dish to the large satellite located in space.

Satellite TV offers a wide variety of great options. The first benefit is the great programming that you will enjoy with a satellite TV account. Whether you fancy sports, movies, nature, or just your regular network sitcoms, you will find that satellite TV has everything that you could ask for and more. The nice thing about satellite TV, as opposed to cable, is that you will always find the same great programming whether you live in Buffalo, New York or Waveland, Mississippi. Unlike cable, they have consistency in their programming and it doesn't discriminate based on where you live. You can also enjoy great extras, such as DVR services. With a DVR player you never have to worry about remembering when your favorite shows are on. You only have to set your DVR to tape your shows and then you can watch them at your leisure. Satellite TV also offers great movie channel packages and sports channel packages that can't be found on cable television. Other exciting extras include satellite radio that has over 80 channels of different kinds of music for you to enjoy throughout your home or your business. The Game Lounge extra is another popular feature that is offered exclusively with satellite TV. Basically it is a metal framework that anchors to the studs in a wall. Once securely fastened to the wall the flat panel is bolted to it. Then the viewer can swivel the bracket in most any direction to facilitate watching the TV from any seat in the room. The plasma TV swivel bracket has opened the door for many options for decorating a living room or den around the TV.

One of the most important considerations when selecting your swivel bracket is the weight of the plasma TV. It is important that the bracket you purchase can bear the weight of the new big screen.

The overall width of the room is another important consideration. If the room is wider than it is deep, you will need a bracket that can extend a good deal from the wall as well as swivel. It is possible to sit at one end of the room on one day and turn the plasma TV as far as possible to the left to view it. The next day might find you at the other side of the room and the bracket will be called upon to move the TV around to where you can enjoy it from that part of the room. One thing in your favor is the 178° viewing angle of most plasma flat panels. That means that you will not have to swivel the set as far as you would have moved an LCD TV, for instance.

The best design is more in the category of a full-motion mounting bracket. This particular style of mounting bracket allows the TV to be extended from the wall, tilted, and swiveled in many directions as well as retracting back close to the wall surface. If you have a large room with many different patterns of seating arrangements, this swivel bracket is the style to choose.

The most luxurious style is the motorized mount. It is capable of swiveling, extending, tilting, and retracting just like the full-motion mounting bracket. But the best feature of this device is that it will do all those movements through the use of motorized linkage that is controlled by remote control. You can sit comfortably anywhere in your room and with the push of a button or two your plasma TV will move to provide you with the finest viewing seat.

The plasma TV swivel bracket is a good choice that can handle practically every plasma TV on the market. It is wise to do your homework by researching on the Internet to match the model of your plasma TV with what is available in swivel brackets. Your shopping options include the Internet as well as most big box retail markets, for the swivel bracket is a popular selling item.

A plasma TV bracket provides tremendous flexibility in terms of placement in your house but before you decide on a swivel bracket be sure to read various reviews so that you can choose the best plasma TV wall mount for your situation.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Andy_Brock

Samsung LN32B360 32 Inch LCD TV - Amazing Features

The Samsung LN32B360 32 inch LCD TV is a large screen HD LCD TV. Many Americans are well aware of this and are simply tired of having to pay for something that they just don't enjoy. In many such cases, people are finding a more satisfying-indeed, truly gratifying-alternative in the form of satellite TV, which is pulling in the highest levels of new subscriptions in its history in these years. Upon a significant comparison of how satellite packages rack up as opposed to other services such as cable, it is quite clear that the only sensible choice is satellite television. To see just exactly why your choice in TV should be satellite TV consider but a few of the issues which we bring up below:

Total channel list and variety: For many viewers, the most important thing is to have a service with a nice and long channel list and a good deal of variety and diversity between all those options. The service that really meets this sort of demand is unequivocally satellite television, which has both a good deal more in terms of total channels as well as programming variety than cable does. With satellite, customers get to enjoy the better aspects of the tube such as more news options, more international options, more movies and series, as well as more educational programming...speaking of which:

Educational quotient: There is a lot to be said for being able to get children to have educational experiences with the television as opposed other more common and undesirable experiences. Never will parents and kids find more educational channels available than with their satellite TV connection, and kids will be particularly well served by the prevalence of channels with a very narrowed and tailored educational approach destined to a particular age group, covering each age group in its own respective way.

HD: Here's an issue not to be underestimated. When faced with the choice of getting somewhere between 60 and 70 high def channels on cable as opposed to getting well above 130 high def channels on satellite, it is not at all surprising that many people should happen to choose the latter option. People want to watch just about everything in high definition these days and that is exactly what is possible through satellite television, including everything from the regular old local news station to just about anything you can imagine.

Business friendliness: Satellite companies have really been focusing in on the needs of businesses, and business owners have been taking note of this more now than ever before. Surveys indicate that above 80% of the business owners using satellite television on their premises agree that the service has had a positive impact on business overall, from the bottom line to customer satisfaction and repeat business...

Customer satisfaction: It's the ultimate indicator of what really is the best for people, and the simple fact here is that it has been almost a decade since satellite television providers conquered the high ground in the customer satisfaction department.

So make the right choice and choose satelite tv for your home or business today. With direct tv satellite tv you'll simply never be able to be more satisfied, so sign up today to experience it!

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_R._Harrison

How HDTV Works and How it Makes TV Better

In television's early days, all signal was analog. The quality of your picture was determined by how the weather behaved, how good your TV set was, and whether or not your antenna was properly setup. The electronic era has given us better methods of transmission like digital cable and satellite, better receivers on the TVs, and better TVs capable of displaying HDTV resolution, which includes Dolby digital surround sound.

Analog TV is now a relic of the past. Digital TV has replaced it completely. There are two types of digital TV: standard definition and high definition. The digital code that powers SDTV and HDTV relies on binary code, a system of zeroes and ones. It doesn't get affected by external factors the way analog signal did. It can travel farther without degrading and the quality of its transmission won't suffer due to factors like bad weather. Furthermore, digital signal is compressed. This allows a wider stream of data to travel across cable and satellite networks, providing access to more channels as well as higher resolution picture and sharper audio.

So what exactly makes HDTV superior? In a broad sense, it comes down to resolution. Currently, hi-def sets can display a maximum resolution of 1080. For standard sets, that number is 480. These numbers refer to the amount of lines that stretch across a TV set. A greater number equals higher resolution. As resolution increases, so does the number of individual pixels. Compared to standard definition, the pixels that appear on an HD set are smaller and grouped closer together. This eliminates picture distortion and fuzziness. An HD set also scans the entire image at once, whereas standard TVs scan each line individually. By scanning the whole image at once, an HD set delivers greater detail and more realistic colors.

Aspect ratio is another difference that separates HDTVs from standard TVs. High-definition sets come with an aspect ratio of 16:9. This is the same aspect ratio used on movie theatre screens. The 16:9 aspect ratio is also known as wide screen format. When you watch DVDs at home, you can see the full picture. Standard TVs come with a 4:3 aspect ratio. This results in a screen that's nearly square and a viewing format that cuts off the sides of the movie you are watching.

HD sets continue to drop in price and providers continue to add more channels in HD all the time. The purchase of one is a move that makes sense. Still, you'll need a receiver that picks up the HD signal. Usually, you can get this from your cable or satellite provider. The price of HD programming has become reasonable. TV providers may offer HD programming for a separate fee added to the price of any core programming package you choose, often as low as $10 a month. Some providers will offer free HD programming, but charge a low monthly lease fee for the receiver.

Learn more about HD programming and see which providers offer the most channels in HD.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mitchell_Crew

3 Costly Mistakes to Avoid When Buying a TV Stand

The modern TV stand comes in all shapes, designs and sizes today. Purchase the right one and you will have a piece of furniture that greatly adds to your décor and functionality of your entertainment system. Buy the wrong one and it can be a complete disaster. Here are 3 costly mistakes many people make when buying a TV stand and how to you can avoid making them.

Size Matters

When selecting an appropriate TV stand make sure you buy the correct size. Be sure to measure how much room you have in the area of your home where it will be placed. Many find what they think will be the perfect stand and bring it home only to find it is too big and does not in the area that have intended for it.

Also, you want a TV stand that is the right size so it provides a stable support. With televisions being so large today, the stand and TV together can be too heavy. The last thing you want is for your TV to fall over because the stand is too small and does not provide a solid foundation.

Be sure when measuring your new stand that the width is more than the width of the TV. Also make sure you know how much your TV weights so you can verify that the stand you are considering is designed to hold that amount of weight.

Keep in Mind Storage Needs

Another mistake people often make is not thinking ahead about how much storage they may need. Consider other equipment you may be storing on the shelves of the TV stand. Do you have a DVD or Blue Ray system, cable box, video game console, games, CD's or DVD's that will all need a home? If you plan to store them on the stand think about what areas for storage space is available on the piece of furniture you are considering. There are some very attractive stand furniture pieces available today, but many have limited areas for storage. If you are looking for something with a lot of storage you may want to consider a TV cabinet or TV armoire.

Consider Safety and How the TV Stand is Made

You know better than anyone your lifestyle and the activity that takes place in your home. Do you have kids and an active dog? Or do you live a quite life with minimal activity in your home?

The point here is that you must consider what if something hits your TV stand? Is there a chance a pet or child could run or collide into it? It may seem farfetched, but it should be considered.

Many of the modern new stands today are made of glass and feature edges that are not rounded. They look great, in fact they can look fantastic. However, if you have an active household with small children or pets, that may not be the best choice. You may want to consider something that is made of a material that is less likely to break, shatter or have sharp edges.

Keep these 3 considerations in mind when shopping for a new TV stand and you will avoid making a mistake that could prove very costly.

For even more information that will help you make a good purchasing decision for your TV stand you can take a look here at: TV Stand Furniture. Also, here is where you can go for a great selection in the hard to find Bush TV Stands.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mark_S_Myers

The Very Appealing Vizio 32S

You're considering buying a Vizio TV, perhaps a 42 or a 32 inch, because they cost a lot less than other brands you know. But are they any good? You've read some reviews, a lot of people are delighted with their Vizio 32 or whatever size they have. (I keep bringing up the 32 and 42 inch sizes because they seem to be the most popular.) Still, how can Vizio make good TVs and sell them at such low prices?

I understand, you don't want to end up with a dud. I wouldn't either. So here's a bit about Vizio, the company.

It was founded in 2002 by a guy named William Wang (born in Taiwan, moved to Hawaii, graduated University of Southern California). The company is based in Irvine, California. So it's an American company. Don't spend time on this thought: like everyone else these days they outsource the making of the TVs.

In an interview with Nikkei Electronics Asia (February 1, 2010) and one with Forbes (12/24/09), he explained how Vizio can afford to sell TVs for so little not using cheap parts. He had 3 points (but his points could be further broken up). Here are his points, broken up by me:

1. They don't have "any legacy" (you'd be more familiar with legacy costs in relation to Ford and the other American car makers) outsource all labor. In other words, they've got a very low overhead (compared to other TV makers).

2. Their execution is better (faster).

3. Their business model is superior ("21st century business model" he called it). They concentrate on one thing, have no redundancies, and work with companies that have the same business model.

4. They outsource all their labor, design and "other matters" (AmTRAN Tchnology Co., LTD, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., LTD, TPV Technology LTD; the first two are in Taiwan, the third is in Hong Kong).

5. They sell through Costco and Sam's Club and, lately, Target. Costco and Sam's club want 10% to sell Vizio's TVs; electronic stores want 25% to sell TVs. There's 15% right there. This is probably the part that contributes the most to their low price.

6. They keep their fixed expenses low. This one overlaps points 3 and 4 above but you have to add that they have fewer employees. According to Mr. Wang "the legacy" TV makers have 10 times more employees than Vizio has.

Now you know that the main reason they're so inexpensive is the sale set-up Vizio has. You also know what the founder of the company thinks are the other reasons.

If it costs you 15% less than the competition to sell a TV, you can, indeed, sell it for less without using cheap parts, shoddy labor. If, in addition, you outsource everything to places that do it for less and there you pick companies that have lower overheads because of how they are structured, you can lower the price a few more percentage points.

The founder, by the way, acknowledges that some of his competitors have the advantage when it comes to patents (by which I take him to mean they are better technologically), but he's working on that too.

To conclude, you can buy your Vizio 32 TV with confidence. Some TV makers make better TVs but you are not buying a dud when you're buying a Vizio.

I am not a perfectionist. I'm definitely not a perfectionist when it comes to TVs. But I do like a good image. And I like it even more if I don't overpay for it. Au contraire, I like to think I shopped wisely. There's no way in hell anyone's going to think they have not shopped wisely if they bought a Vizio 32 TV

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dusan_Varga

VUDU Streaming Movies in 1080p and VIZIO Internet Apps HDTV

VIZIO Internet Apps HDTV offers razor sharp high definition television with advanced surround sound. This deal will also allow VUDU to continue to develop and improve its platform.

Walmart will undoubtably give VUDU more marketing exposure to the growing number of potential customers for Internet connected HDTV. Walmart's claim to "lowest prices" will put price pressure on other content providers, depending on VUDU's future prices.

The brand new VIZIO Class XVT Series Internet Apps HDTV is available now

VIZIO has become the dominant producer of high quality, affordable big screen TVs.

JVC Flat Screen TV

JVC flat screen TV is making a competitive edge in its manufacturing of flat screen TV. Its super slim LCD intended for home entertainment measures .25 inches deep and weighs 12.5 lbs. This was made possible by using the JVC's edge in LED backlighting system; offering a contrast ratio of 4000:1 and a color gamut that is wide intended for a high resolution of video and still images that are considered to be exceptional.

The shallow depth of the monitor is making it ideal for consumers who may want flexibility in design as it allows. JVC flat screen TV also has a variety of commercial applications. One simple trait of this unit is that there were a few material resources in making the appliance, reducing the products' impact on the environment in its production.

Aside from JVC's feature in LCD panel edged light LED backlight system, the JVC flat screen TV is amazingly thin. Imagine its measurement is just.25 inch deep at its thinnest point. Should you have trouble in looking for a suitable TV that is within budget then you must check on JVC flat screen TV. The TV is performance oriented coming with a digital filter that has 3 lines, it has good sound quality, has components for video input and a clear picture.
